Cricket is like a lifeline for Indians, sitting with clenched jaws with friends to watch World Cup Finals is something we are used to. With a huge amount of love for cricket, Hope decided to have its first event to be a Street Cricket Championship 2018. 24 teams with 8 players each had two phases to compete. The first phase was single league and the second was playoffs. The first main event by Hope turned out to be super successful with the cricket competition being a huge hit. Close to
Rs 22,000 was raised from the event and
Rs. 15,000 was donated to the Humane Animal society of Coimbatore

Passing by an endless number of homeless and starving people while outside is something so dejecting that it makes your heart sink. Therefore to ease the burden and to share a little sense of hope, Hope decided to feed 100 plus people at the Coimbatore corporation night shelter to a proper meal with the remaining proceeds of Rs. 7,000 from the Street Cricket Championship event. Members of hope and volunteers gathered at the night shelter with food and a humble intention to serve the people. With a content heart and hopefully a content stomach, the night went by with humans helping humans.

Team hope took forward Gandhiji’s thought on making the earth a cleaner place. Hope organised its first cleanliness drive, “Swachatta hi seva” on September 30th,2018. The drive was open to all and the members cleaned alongside the Kumarswamy lake of Coimbatore and planted saplings. About 130 volunteers took part in the drive and pledged not to litter.

PUBG
E-Sports

PUBG had taken everyone by surprise with how good the E-Sports was and how many people were bewitched by it. The love for this E-Sports was targeted by Hope to collect funds for charity. PUBG tournament with 2 Formats was announced ,where Format 1 was Solo , and Format 2 was duo. Rs 5000 was rasied by the chicken dinner winners and other participants, essential items were bought and donated to Hope’s beneficiary, Annaivarukum Anbu Illam.

Our PUBG event that started of as an initiative to interact with more people, ended with us raising funds beyond our expectations. In the spirit of sports and Games, we decided to donate it to an all boys orphanage to keep their interest in sports alive; our beneficiary being, "Annaivarukum Anbu Illam", a home for 50 kids. Along with few sports items and kits, items worth Rs.6000 was donated to the orphanage. We also helped them with essential food requirements.

‘Drops of Hope’ is a blood donation campaign organized yearly by Hope. The event was first conducted on 10th march 2019 at Shree Gujurati Samaj , Coimbatore in association with The Rotary Club of Coimbatore spectrum. Hope was able to inculcate the 101 volunteers and donate101 units of blood through IMA Masonic Rotary Midtown. The event was a great success and was also covered by the local media channels.

The one year wait for the Avengers Endgame movie had fans clinging to hopes of getting their heroes back after the heartbreak that was Infinity War. Hope decided to plan an event to celebrate this final part of a journey that the fans had been a part of for a very long time.The event was of bulk booking of Endgame tickets where everyone could watch it together as a happy fandom. The response received was overwhelming with a whopping 163 bookings i.e. an entire screen in a theatre within the span of a week. The heart breaking climax was soothed a wee bit by how much the group enjoyed the event.

Cut the crap

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2019, Hope started the “Cut the Crap” challenge using social media as their medium. According to the challenge all the volunteers had to do is grab a bag, wear a mask and clean about anything, they could, in their reach. The campaign wasn’t only restricted to cleaning but also included planting saplings and conversing about the importance of saving the environment on social media to help increase awareness. Around 40 volunteers showed up and played their role in making the world more sustainable.

With the first season of Street Cricket Championship being talked about even after a year, Hope planned for the second season a year later. This season was made even more intriguing being an under arm tournament with 20 teams and 37 matches. 2 days of playing and competing went by in a whisk. The amount raised was Rs 15,000 and was donated to the Sittrulli Foundation of Coimbatore that helps promote paralympics.

Raksha Bandhan with the Army

On 15th august 2019 hope organised a Raksha Bandhan festivity with our soldiers to thank the Indian Army for their dedication in serving the nation. Around 20 volunteers tied a “Rakhi” which in India denotes the symbol of protection by a brother with a promise to his sister. Our jawans protect us day and night and are our nation’s brothers. The event was a great sentiment and one of a kind.

On October 2,2019 SWACHH BHARAT 2.O was conducted where around 98 participants collected 250 kg of waste and planted 75 saplings. Both the drives were a massive success and received great response. We’re grateful for the support of the Coimbatore Corporation in helping us conduct it both the times to ensure the smooth running of the event.

For the one year celebration of the PUBG tournament 2018, Hope organised a free PUBG tournament which was conducted within a span of 3 days. A total of 28 participants competed in 5 quick matches with the E-Sports being streamed on Hope’s Youtube Channel.

With days passing by, trash at houses and in people’s minds keeps increasing more and more. People like that may not be helpful but the trash at houses can be. Therefore, Hope decided to collect household junk by going door-to-door, which were sold at junk yards and the money was directed towards the M Aravindar Charitable Trust. The 2 week collection with the help of kind people was used to buy a refrigerator, a washing machine, a mixer, a mattress and groceries worth rupees 7000 and all of this was donated to the trust.

When the whole country was out there welcoming the new year 2020, and hundreds of people were out on the road, our Coimbatore police were all up on duty to ensure the safety of the citizens. Hence, we at Hope decided to spend our New year’s eve with those who were away from their loved ones for the protection of every person. Team hope went from street to street thanking the police and distributing sweets as a gesture of gratitude. Indeed there is no better way of welcoming a new year than showing our gratitude for the people who protect us.

Motivated by the support during the event in 2019, the second edition of our blood donation drive "Drops of Hope 2.0" was conducted on 16th February 2020. It was conducted in collaboration with Shanti Social Service Blood Bank. 86 donors participated in the event contributing to its success. The event was also covered by local media channels.

Assam flood relief campaign

With the pandemic already shaking up people’s lives, the Assam floods were another tough blow. Hope decided to conduct a series of online competitions and charity streams, the proceeds from which were donated to Assam Flood Relief Fund. Hope conducted a series of online competitions including singing, chess, art, writing, photography and dance. All the competitions had a minimal entry fee which would go towards the fund and had eminent judges. We received 200 plus entries for these competitions and were overwhelmed by people’s support. Apart from this, the team also hosted live charity streams on the Youtube channel of hope. This was done in collaboration with various other people in the fields of content creation, baking, singing etc. We were able to raise close to Rs 40,000 via these weekly charity streams

Think Pink

'Think Pink' is a breast cancer awareness campaign hosted by Hope Organisation in October 2020 in an attempt to reduce the stigma surrounding breast cancer - its sympoms, detection and treatment. The campaign was conducted over a period of 21 days in more than 50 collaborations with artists, writers and influencers from across India, who participated with much earnestness to spread the word and enlighten audiences in their own unique ways. Trivias and online session with an expert added vigour to the effort. A charity stream was also held alongside to support the cause, through which ₹10,000 was successfully raised through our wonderful benefactors. All proceeds were directed to Coimbatore Cancer Foundation.

Secret Santa

The people of Coimbatore along with Hope definitely had a merry Christmas back in December 2020. Keeping in mind the ongoing Covid restrictions and the dreary situation that has affected people in more ways than we can count, 'Secret Santa', a traditional Christmas event was organized to give folks a sense of normalcy in these abnormal times. Its a classic game that keeps alive mystery, suspense and surprise of gifting. With a total of 48 participants, each participant was asked to gift a present to an anonymous person in return of the same. What's more happier than bringing joy to a random face? Moreover,the guessing is just as much fun as receiving The gift. The event was a great success that was filled fun and happiness.

On 26th January 2021 ,hope organised it's third season of street cricket championship. a box cricket tournament. 16 teams with 8 players in each team , participated and competed against each other to win the trophy and a cash prize of 13,500 rupees. The event was a grand success and ended on a good note. An amount of ₹50,000 was raised through the tournament and will be used effectively in rural development surrounding coimbatore. The project is on hold as of now due to Covid -19 restrictions imposed by government.

Blood donation

On 28th February 2021, we organised our third blood donation drive, "DROPS OF HOPE” at Rajasthani Sangh, Coimbatore in collaboration with Together We Care. This initiative was supported by Rajendra Glass House and was in accordance with the blood bank of Shanthi Social Services. A total of 36 units of blood was collected and the program went till 2 pm.

Through this event, we helped people transform into a REAL HERO; by assisting them in becoming a BLOOD DONOR.
